I got robbed.

For reals.

So, I've been moving for the past few weeks- doing a little bit at a time you know. And I was finishing up this week- to be out of my house on Tuesday.

Well.

I only had a couch and a table that needed strong men to move- so my brother and his friend Kyle and my uncle Nick came and moved it Monday night. No problem.

I went back Tuesday to get the last few things, meet my friend to give her some things I don't want/need, and to clean.

And the garage door was open.
Weird.
And the door to the house from the garage was open.
Weird.
And my dining room table was missing.
Weird.
And the front door was wide open.
Weird.

Yeah, so I got robbed.

Luckily, most of our stuff was moved out- but they did get my dining room table (SO STRANGE) and chairs, my friend's triathlon bike, my roommate's bike, my vacuum cleaner, my mom's ladder, 2 coolers, my lawn edger... but saddest of all...

ALL. OF. MY. NECKLACES.

all.
like 30+ necklaces.

I still had them hanging on the hooks because I hadn't been able to decide where I was going to hang them in the new place.
Now I don't have to decide.

I now have 3 necklaces to my names. None of which are "everyday" type deals.

So the only upside is that I have a really good excuse to start buying new necklaces! Any suggestions!

being crafty

Sunday afternoon ended up being a major productive crafty time for me.... I painted a dresser I've been wanting to paint for about 3739 years. or 18 months. whatever. I'll post pics when it's all the way done. :)

I also made a key holder thing for our house-- I bought the stuff to do this about 4 months ago and these wooden stars have been just sitting around our house since then. But yesterday! I completed! They are ADORABLE. if I do say so myself :)

love this!

I promise I'm gonna post some pics of my house decorated for Christmas- it's quite cute, if I do say so myself.
But.
until then.

you can just know that I LOVE this wreath.

I feel like I should explain myself

See, it's Christmas. And I love it. And I want to come to your party.

And it's Christmas and I want to decorate.

And it's Christmas and I want to see your adorable dog wearing antlers (because it's funny EVERY TIME)

BUT.

I am allergic. I don't mean like runny nose and itchy eyes allergic. I mean like full-blown-going-to-the-hospital-because-my-at-home-nebulizer-isn't-stopping-this-asthma-attack. It's awesome. I have been in the hospital on Christmas Eve or Day more times than I've been in the hospital on regular days of the year. It's very cool.

And at Christmastime it makes me a little sad.
But. I'm allergic!!
Yes. to Christmas trees. and your Christmas-y potpurri. and your dog. and your house in general, but for some reason it's always worse during December.

And people talk all of this trash about fake trees. and it makes me a little sad. because it's not that I am just too lazy/cheap/godless/mean to go buy a real tree. It's that I would have to go to the hospital after being in my own home. And then be unable to return to my own home. Tragic indeed.

It's heartbreaking. I am a team player. But. I can't have a real tree.

My cute little fake tree wishes he were real. But he is not. But Christmas lives in your heart.
And in my heart, my tree is real and my lungs are clear. :)

a great place to rest my weary bones

LOVE this chair from Room Service Home! seriously! I think they intended it for small children, but I am a big fan.

valentine's day didn't suck

shock, I know.
But, when you're 27 and single, Valentine's Day has a way of being a huge giant suckfest.
but, not so much.
it wasn't like the best day ever or anything, but I didn't want to jump under a bridge by nightfall.

great day at school- lots of energy and i feel like I taught well, so that's always a bonus. (other than my douche-y student teacher, but that's out of my control....)
sat and laughed with 2 girl friends after work for about an hour, so that always blesses me.
then went home where preparations for our "so you're telling me i'm single" party were underway.
but then I left. to go see the fam. had to take something to the mom. got a little "love present" as my my mom calls them- precious.. my mom is awesome. you wish she were your mom. but she is not. sorry. and i got to hang out with the neph. we opened my present and went to go see our neighbors. and played with ribbon. and banged a tin on the dining room table until we got in trouble.
and then I came back home. to finish getting ready for our super party. it was chilll and low key- but we had great snacks (inclusing a chocolate fountain- be jealous!) and cute cocktails (called a "flirtini"-- didn't hate it!)
and then we laguhed. and laughed. and told our worst date stories (another day....). and laughed.

then I went to sleep.

oh! forgot the fun text flirting I got to do with a sweet boy whom I love! he's precious. I'd date him. but, not so much. and on this day, it's just nice to be flirted with. :)

happy vd ;)

unique unity

I was blogbrowsing today at Habitually Chic and saw pics from some posh-a-licious restaurant in New York called Bobo. And the restaurant is so funly decorated, but my favorite thing was that they took all of these different chairs and covered them with the same fabric. Love that the chairs are each different, but the fabric brings them together. Unique Unity. Briliiant.

a little too crowded

my house is adorable.
but it's crowded.
not so much with people (even though there are four girls living together here!).

but with stuff.

and it's not really a bad thing, but sometimes I want to buy new furniture and can't because there is NO where for anything else to go!

but, I'm not really complaining. i just want things:
